This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?

Artist's Description

The birch tree is of great importance to Native American peoples due to its hardy, flexible, highly waterproof sheets of bark. Birch bark has been used and still is used by my people (Native Americans) for everything from papering the exteriors of canoes and houses to making baskets, artwork, and maps. In my Ojibwe (Chippewa) tribe, birch bark is a sacred gift from the culture hero Wenabozho. It is used to ceremonially wrap the bodies of the dead for burial. This is how my body is to be cared for when I pass away. Ojibwe legend teaches that birch trees are immune to lightning strikes. Therefore, these are good trees to take shelter under during a thunderstorm.

Most recently, I have been greatly inspired by Pablo Picasso finding his techniques with her culture to bring life to the Native American Arts. “To create is to take voices of a culture that was once silenced and be an inspiration to the world through and educate...
