This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

Artist's Description

A piece I created to represent MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. The missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW) epidemic affects our Indigenous peoples in Canada and the United States, including the First Nations, Inuit, Métis (FNIM), and Native American communities. It has been described as a Canadian national crisis and a Canadian genocide.
As a group that has been "socially, economically, and politically marginalized", Indigenous women have been frequent targets for hatred and violence. Underlying factors such as poverty and homelessness contribute to their victimization, as do historical factors such as racism, sexism, and the legacy of colonialism. Most recently, I have been greatly inspired by Pablo Picasso finding his techniques with her culture to bring life to the Native American Arts. “To create is to take voices of a culture that was once silenced and be an inspiration to the world through and educate...
